Police found a 6 year old boy wandering the streets. Officer offered to take the boy home. The boy said no because his mom beats him. The police asked about his father. Sin
Sermon yesterday was about being set free from sin. I thought that was interesting because I had a conversation with a friend earlier in the week about that very thing. They said that God hated homosexuals. God doesn’t hate us, he loves us. If He didn’t love us, He would not have sent Christ. It’s the sin God hates. Then was asked, “What about pedophiles?” Same thing. It’s the sin, not the person. God hates ALL sin. As for sexual sin, anything outside of marriage is a sin. Not only is it a sin, but also a sin against yourself because you are defiling your body which God made. Another thing, God didn’t set the different levels of severity to sin, man did. Sin cannot enter into heaven. Why do you think God forsook Christ when he was on the cross? Because all of our sin had been laid upon Him. He became sin, who knew no sin. When we think God has turned his back on us, it is us that has turned our back on God through our sin. Repent means when you change direction and go back the way you came from. In other words, do a u-turn. Many times, when we sin, we ignore the voice of God telling us it is wrong. Like any other parent, you tell your child so many times not to do something, eventually, you are going to quit telling them and let them suffer the consequences. Why should God our Father be any different? Oh, and God will not tempt us. It is our own sinful nature that does that. God will not tempt us with evil because God is not evil. You don’t tempt your kids with wrong things, do you? It is a fallacy to say that God is tempting you. Remember, God loves you and will not harm you. Think about how you relate to your own children. After thinking about that, why would God be any different to us, His children? You love your child but don’t necessarily like what they do, right? This is just some food for thought. Something to think about next time you think God hates you or that you have done something so wrong that there is not a way back to God. He is our creator yet we expect less out of Him than we do our earthly parents. That is the exact opposite of the way it is. He is so much more than our earthly parents.

Saving Money
Going to work on getting items at home all on a main switch for each outlet. Anything that has a light flashing or someting with an indicator even when it is turned off is still drawing power. Going to see what going unplugged when not in use will do to our electric bill.
~$6 per pack * 7 days = $42
$42 * 2 people = $84 weekly
$84 * 4 weeks = $336 monthly
$85 cost saving of Dish and internet + $336 saved from smoking = $421 a month

Ronald Reagan's First Inaugural Address to the nation
"These United States are confronted with an economic affliction of great proportions. We suffer from the longest and one of the worst sustained inflations in our national history. It distorts our economic decisions, penalizes thrift, and crushes the struggling young and the fixed-income elderly alike. It threatens to shatter the lives of millions of our people. Idle industries have cast workers into unemployment, human misery and personal indignity. Those who do work are denied a fair return for their labor by a tax system which penalizes successful achievement and keeps us from maintaining full productivity. But great as our tax burden is, it has not kept pace with public spending. For decades we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children's future for the temporary convenience of the present. To continue this long trend is to guarantee tremendous social, cultural, political, and economic upheavals. You and I, as individuals, can, by borrowing, live beyond our means, but for only a limited period of time. Why then should we think that collectively, as a nation, we are not bound by that same limitation? We must act today in order to preserve tomorrow. And let there be no misunderstanding -- we're going to begin to act beginning today. The economic ills we suffer have come upon us over several decades. They will not go away in days, weeks, or months, but they will go away. They will go away because we as Americans have the capacity now, as we have had in the past, to do whatever needs to be done to preserve this last and greatest bastion of freedom. In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem."

Witness: “Thirty-eight or thirty-five, I can’t remember which.”
Lawyer: “How long has he lived with you?”

Lawyer: “So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?”
Witness: “No.”
Lawyer: “How can you be so sure, Doctor?”
Witness: “Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.”
Lawyer: “But could the patient have still been alive nevertheless?”
Witness: “Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law somewhere.”
Lawyer: “And you check your radar unit frequently?”
Officer: “Yes, I do.”
Lawyer: “And was your radar unit functioning correctly at the time you had the plaintiff on radar?”
Officer: “Yes, it was malfunctioning correctly.”
Lawyer: “Sir, what is your IQ?”
Witness: “Well, I can see pretty well, I think.”
Lawyer: “What happened then?”
Witness: “He told me, he says, ‘I have to kill you because you can identify me.’”
Lawyer: “Did he kill you?”
Witness: “No.”
Lawyer: “Mr. Slatery, you went on a rather elaborate honeymoon, didn’t you?”
Witness: “I went to Europe, sir.”
Lawyer: “And you took your new wife?”
.
Lawyer: “Now, Mrs. Johnson, how was your first marriage terminated?”
Witness: “By death.”
Lawyer: “And by whose death was it terminated?”
Lawyer: “I show you Exhibit 3 and ask you if you recognize that picture.”
Witness: “That’s me.”
Lawyer: “Were you present when that picture was taken?”
.
Lawyer: “Do you know how far pregnant you are now?”
Witness: “I’ll be three months on November 8.”
Lawyer: “Apparently, then, the date of conception was August 8?”
Witness: “Yes.”
Lawyer: “What were you doing at that time?”
